(National Center for Information Technology in Public Administration) of the Department for Innovation and Technologies of the Presidency of the Council, and the Office of the Guarantor for Privacy.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6>What is ICAO?<\/h6><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The acronym stands for the International Civil Aviation Organization, a private organization headquartered in Montreal, Canada, which has been responsible for worldwide civil aviation safety regulations since 1996.<br \/>The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations charged with developing principles and techniques of international air navigation,<br \/>of routes and airports and to promote the design and development of international air transport, making it safer and more orderly.<br \/>The ICAO Council adopts standards and recommended practices concerning air navigation and civil aviation. ICAO also defines protocols for air accident investigations carried out by the transport safety authorities of countries that are signatories to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, more commonly known as the Chicago Convention.<br \/>Since 2000, he has also been involved with the regulations and characteristics of documents to be used by beneficiaries.<br \/>airlines.<br \/>In recent years, ICAO has issued a series of documents [ICAO international standards \u2013 IS0 (ISO\/IEC JTC 1\/SC 37 N506)] that have been adopted and transformed into guidelines by European institutions issuing regulations or instructions for traveling citizens.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6>What has ICAO established regarding compliant photos?<\/h6><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6><strong>The photographs must:<\/strong><\/h6><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>\u2013 be recent (maximum 6 months);<br \/>\u2013 have a width of 35-40mm;<br \/>\u2013 Frame the subject\u2019s face and shoulders in the foreground (the face should occupy 70\u201380% of the photo);<br \/>\u2013 be in focus and sharp;<br \/>- be of high quality;<br \/>- do not have ink stains or wrinkles.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6><strong>The photographs must also:<\/strong><\/h6><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>1) portray the person with their gaze directed towards the lens;<br \/>Show the person's natural complexion;<br \/>3) have optimal brightness and contrast levels;<br \/>4)be printed on high-quality, high-resolution photographic paper;<br \/>5) Take the person with eyes open and clearly visible, not covered by hair;<br \/>6) photograph the person frontally, not from the side (portrait style) or tilted, clearly showing both sides of the face;<br \/>Be on a light, solid background.;<br \/>8) be photographed with uniform lighting and without shadows, reflections, or red-eye effect.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6><strong>If the person wears glasses:<\/strong><\/h6><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>\u2013 the photograph must clearly show the eyes without reflections on the glasses;<br \/>\u2013 lenses should not be colored (if possible, avoid heavy frames and wear glasses with lighter frames);<br \/>\u2013 the frame must not cover any part of the eyes.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6><strong>Headwear<\/strong><\/h6><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>\u2013 are not permitted except for religious reasons, but facial features must be clearly visible, from the tip of the chin to the entire forehead and both sides of the face.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6><strong>Expression and framing<\/strong><\/h6><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The photographs must:<br \/>\u2013 show only the person depicted (without a chair back, toys, or other visible people) while<br \/>Look at the lens with a neutral expression and your mouth closed.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6><strong>Passport Issuance<\/strong><\/h6><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The application for release may be submitted at the following offices in your place of residence, domicile, or dwelling:<br \/>\u2013 the police headquarters;<br \/>\u2013 The Passport Office of the Public Security Commissioner's Office;<br \/>\u2013 The Carabinieri Station (where there is no Police Station);<br \/>The Post Office;<br \/>\u2013 The Municipal Office (where a Police Station or Carabinieri Station is not present).<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6><strong>The documentation<\/strong><\/h6><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The question needs to be accompanied by:<br \/>\u2013 a valid identification document;<br \/>\u2013 2 identical, recent passport-sized photos (strictly adhere to the guidelines in this article to avoid photo rejection by the new machines that evaluate format correctness);<br \/>\u2013 \u20ac40.29 per passport government concessions;<br \/>\u2013 the payment receipt for \u20ac44.66 for the 32-page booklet, and \u20ac45.62 for the 48-page one.<\/p><p>The payment must be made to current account no. 67422808 in the name of: Ministry of Economy and Finance \u2013 Department of the Treasury.
