2025: Mutaverso Teatro restarts after the closing of the first part of the season coinciding with the section. Geography, to young artists from Campania. On January 17th at 9 PM, the Piccolo Teatro del Giullare will host Tiger Dad, Produced by Ama Factory, Cattivi Maestri Teatro, with the contribution of the Center for Studies on Neapolitan, Southern Italian, and European Theatre, and under the patronage of the Torto Festival. The play and direction are by Rosario Palazzolo, and Salvatore Nocera will be on stage. After the performance, the author and the protagonist will engage in a dialogue with the audience.
Father Tiger is a shy and slightly off-course man. Foolish, we'd say, as he mixes slightly obsessive traits with an unusual, somewhat cunning, and somewhat anguished calmness.
Restless, indeed, overall, is his figure, as it synthesizes two aspects of the human soul in a single individual, embodied by two pop icons, namely the transcendence of the saint of Pietralcina and the impetuosity of Tiger Mask. A marbled deterrent, the first, still and holy-spirited, divine and fragrant, intangible only to those who do not believe. A revolutionary fighter, the second, with a formidable talent for fighting, especially when it is caused by injustice. And indeed, this show will be a perfect arena to let dichotomies coexist. Bad, yes, but leaning towards goodness. A spit in the mouth of those who are dying of thirst. Zorro's sword in Christ's hand.
Why Tiger Dad, or rather, Tiger Dad as the internet community has transformed him, will try to fight a battle he may lose. The battle against the «anything goes» mentality of social media, against the stupidity of artificial intelligence, against success at any cost. After all, the place where he finds himself is a perfect place for defeat, already decked out to the nines. And indeed, he will die. "Tiger Dad will be a detonator, or at least that's how I imagine him. Of a new way of thinking. That will say nothing current, even while talking about today.".
